Learning to read our own marketplace: chat categorization with Snowflake AI

Every used car part Ovoko sells is one of a kind, and no listing says quite enough. Buyers and sellers close the gap in chat - twelve languages, more messages than any team can read.

Attempt one: embeddings, k-means, twenty clusters, nothing anyone could act on.

Attempt two: eight categories, AI_CLASSIFY, all SQL inside Snowflake - and the pluses and minuses that got us from one to the other.
